I was making up the numbers sailing between Plockton and Portree on Scotland's west coast with an experienced bunch of sailors when the weather deteriorated and our skipper decided that we should motor for a bit. That meant that somebody had to venture out to tie some ropes, while I ventured in to frame a shot.
